Overview
Safety of the cosmetic product is of prime importance for both consumers and regulatory authorities. In most countries, the responsibility for safety lies with the manufacturer or the entity placing the product on the market.
In the EU, safety assessment is mandated under EU Regulation 1223/2009 Annex I, which requires a Cosmetic Product Safety Report (CPSR). This report is a mandatory component of compliance.
Maven’s expert team specializes in handling CPSRs, safety assessments, and toxicology. The CPSR consists of Part A and Part B and must be signed by a qualified toxicologist or designated expert.
At Maven, we conduct toxicological risk assessments for each ingredient, evaluate all safety endpoints, and perform exposure calculations to determine the Margin of Safety (MoS). The final safety assessment considers all these factors to ensure product safety.
We also support Safety Data Sheet (SDS) authoring in line with the United Nations’ Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for all personal care products.
